Overview

Undergraduate Internships

Our undergraduate internship programs are offered during the months of January through June. Both programs are classified as full-time, seasonal positions in our practice. These internships provide the opportunity for undergraduate students to expand their general knowledge of equine veterinary medicine while they assist in covering operational needs during the busy breeding season. We currently offer two internship opportunities: one in our McGee Medicine Center and the other aside our field care team.

Medicine Veterinary Assistant Internship

Our medicine undergraduate internship gives students the opportunity to learn from our senior technicians during the busy breeding season, while also assisting our boarded internal medicine specialists. Most of the caseload will revolve around mares and critically ill foals. Frequent cases seen during this time include post-foaling complications, high risk pregnancies and various neonatal disorders.
