Hagyard’s Laboratory mission is to provide superior, cost effective equine diagnostic testing allowing veterinarians to make accurate and timely diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan for better quality patient care. This is accomplished by hiring certified technologists and updating instrumentation and procedures when needed. Testing is available in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coggins, Cytology, Endocrinology, Hematology, Microbiology, PCR and Serology.
Our services are available to all equine veterinarians. Let us provide you with the same personal care and quality results we provide our own Hagyard veterinarians. Let our lab be your lab.
The lab is run by licensed medical technologists and medical laboratory technicians that have extensive knowledge in equine hematology, chemistry, blood banking and microbiology. Due to the expertise of our technologists and state-of-the-art instrumentation, our lab produces quality results you can depend on along with unmatched turnaround times.
To ensure accurate results, quality control is run as required by the Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute, a global nonprofit organization that sets the standards all regulatory agencies and accredited labs use to ensure quality results. The Hagyard Lab participates in proficiency testing from an external source and performs internal proficiency testing to guarantee the consistency and accuracy of all results.
The Lab's award-winning Laboratory Information System (LIS) interfaces with several of our instruments and generates barcode labels for specimens, ensuring the accuracy of results by eliminating clerical errors. The LIS enables us to access patient reports quickly and print, fax or email them to our clients. The LIS can generate different types of reports such as cumulative and antibiogram reports.
