Overview
The objective of the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology is to offer a comprehensive program of advanced education in the field of equine lameness and osteoarticular, musculotendinous, and nervous pathology, covering the different parts of the locomotor system of the horse. The mission includes:
- Continuing education of equine practitioners for a better management of patients.
- Development of knowledge of the diagnosis and management of the causes of pain and lesions involving the structures of the locomotor system of horses.
- To present the anatomical and biomechanical data allowing understanding of the etiopathogenesis of the lesions as well as the management of the different conditions.
- To share the latest developments in diagnostic imaging of bones, joints, tendons, muscles and nervous system.
- Standardization of imaging procedures for a better communication between practitioners and/or referring centers.
- To improve the technical skills of practitioners in the use of non-invasive diagnostic procedures.
- Publications of new diagnostic procedures, new concepts in pathologic conditions of the equine locomotor system and unknown clinical entities.
